Our neighborhood elementary school did not have an appropriate program for Vivian so she rode a bus to another school in our community. Hockey Boy and Dots went to our neighborhood school but their years there did not overlap.
This year, however, Vivian and Dots are on the same campus. I was excited about the prospect of having one less PTA meeting to attend and one less cafeteria duty every month, but I don't think Dots had given it much thought.
To Dots's surprise, however, everyone at her middle school knows Vivian. When Dots has met the principal, assistant principals, nurses, counselors, etc., and they have learned she is Vivian's sister, they have made a big fuss about how much they love Vivian and how glad they are to meet her sister. Dots even ran across some older girls who had gone to the same elementary school as Vivian. When Dots told them her sister Vivian had attended that school, the girls all exclaimed, "Vivian! Oh, we love Vivian!" Dots, who has hitherto viewed Vivian as somewhat of an inconvenience, is suddenly exposed to her sister's *fame* and seems to be enjoying it. I am thrilled for Dots to see Vivian in this light.
Vivian, on the other hand, is a bit mystified at having Dots on her campus. The two girls passed in the hall this week. Dots greeted Vivian with a friendly "hi," and Vivian looked at her at said, "You go back to your school now."

Touching post, Eloise!
That is such a cute story!
I also wanted to let you know I made your corn bake for our block party and it was a hit. Thanks you for sharing the recipe!
What a sweet, sweet sister story. Sometimes it is good for siblings to see each other through other people's eyes.
I hope they both have a good year. It is so helpful for Mom when kids are in the same school, so you'll probably have a good year too.
That's as cute as the story of when Vivi met another girl in her school called Vivian - the teacher introduced them and commented on them both having the same name - to which Vivi replied "whoops"!
This is such a sweet story. I hope this great start continues through the entire year and that is brings the girls closer together! Also, both your girls are lucky to have such a fabulous mother!
