Dots lost a molar yesterday at school. She was quite excited, though disappointed to discover that in middle school they don't have little plastic treasure chests for lost teeth (Hockey Boy's sympathetic comment: "Welcome to the real world, Dots").
Dots with her cat Ginny. Attempts to take a picture that showed the missing tooth were not too attractive. I decided it was better just to show how happy she was to discover the tooth fairy had left some quarters under her pillow and some glitter on her sheets
I bought this little Limoges box at the Clingancourt Antiques Market in Paris several years ago. Dots has asked the Tooth Fairy not to take her lost teeth so that she can keep them in this little box on her shelf. The Tooth Fairy has graciously complied!
Dents de Lait means 'milk teeth' in French
This reminds me of a funny Vivian story.
I think I have mentioned that one of Vivian's favorite movies is Pinocchio. A couple of years ago Vivian lost a tooth. I told her that we would put the tooth under her pillow that night so that the Tooth Fairy would come. "And turn me into a real boy?" she sweetly asked.

OUR tooth fairy is going to swipe the glitter idea from YOUR tooth fairy. Brilliant!
Oh, that is so sweet. I love limoges! I love Dot's room, too. It is dreamy. And Vivian's purity and innocence touch my heart. (I also love Hockey Boy's "boyish" remark!!
1. Glitter! What a FANTASTIC idea! When I have kids of my own, I will be sure to make the tooth fairy use glitter as well!
2. LOVE the box. Adorable.
3. And what a sweet story about Vivian!
Aww...poor Dot. It is hard growing up. LOVE the limoges box. I collect them too but have nothing like that. Also, I laughed warmly this morning at your comment and even read it aloud to my husband:) Thank you for thinking of me. I am going this afternoon to look at even more homes with my realtor. I want to be sure of the right house.

PS--the sleepover went very well! Thank you for asking!
