Hockey Boy's high school choir sang at the tree lighting ceremony at our local shopping area this week. Our weather has turned colder lately so it was very festive to stand in the crisp night air clutching a cup of hot chocolate and listening to Christmas carols.

There was a very large turnout for the event with local merchants manning tents and street performers offering entertainment in addition to the groups appearing on stage. Santa Claus even put in an appearance!

Somehow, though, in 17 years of parenting, I neglected to convey to Hockey Boy what the term *festive holiday attire* meant. Even without motherly direction, one might guess that he would infer that such a description referred to something other than a navy hooded sweatshirt from a hockey tournament four years ago, but sadly, that was not the case. Hopefully this crowd was too caught up in the sights and sounds of the evening to pay much notice. {sigh}

I am laughing so hard at the "festive holiday attire" comment! Hockey Boy thinks like my boys. Comfort is key. What a fun tree lighting. I think it says so much about a place, when people want to gather to celebrate special times... you live in a great community.
Beautiful! Is that in Snider Plaza? Hope you and you family had a Happy Thanksgiving! Happy late Birthday too!!
It's Molly's Mom. I don't know how my posting got swicthed to Courtney and I can't figure out how to get it back. Oh well.
Oh that hockey boy and his festive attire.....that is exactly what one of my peanuts would do too!!! That tree lighting looks very festive. Okay now I want to know all about the store called NEST in the background of one of the photos. It sounds like our kind of store!
