We had a wonderful Christmas! I am woefully behind in everything - putting away gifts, writing thank you notes, taking down the tree and other decorations, and blogging. Thank goodness I have a whole week to catch up a bit. I'm going to recap our Christmas in a couple of posts.
I hosted twenty-two people for dinner on Christmas Eve. It was a lovely evening, with everyone seeming to enjoy the food and the company. The highlight for me was gathering around the piano to sing Christmas carols after dinner.
I hope that your Christmas included the opportunity to gather with those that you love as well.
My tables all set for Christmas Eve dinner
Keepin' it real here - my kitchen was a mess after I got all the food ready!
My friend Wendy stopped by with her family to carol for us before our family arrived
Robert carved the beef tenderloin, which was fabulous!
Along with beef tenderloin I served tamales (Robert's family's Christmas Eve tradition), cheese grits, corn and green bean casserole, hot fruit casserole and homemade rolls
I didn't have placecards, but the kids segregated themselves to their own table
Dots sporting a new short haircut!

Everything looks so lovely at your house and Dots' new short hairdo is adorable!
Your house just looks amazing. You are quite the entertainer - I wish I lived nearby so I could invite myself over for dinner sometime!
I love Dots' new hairdo.
Your home looks beautiful. The tables fabulous! I bet everything was delicious! What fun! Dots' hair looks so cute short!
I love it all... it looks merry and very beautiful. And the food looks scrumptious! Merry Christmas (Are you as tired as I am? ;)
Everything looks fabulous. I have to tell you that, in honor of you, I actually posted, on my blog, some pictures of the food I served.
Your house looks amazing! Love all the table settings!
Guinn & Dots have matching haircuts - she cut hers short on the Monday before Christmas! Everything looks great.
Now this is how you do it! We are so much alike. This is exactly how I'd host! In Texas at the in laws, let me just say it was not my cup of tea! 30 people and we ate on paper plates in the garage! Hubby and I joked it was a hillbilly Christmas!!! Next year I am going all out with my Royal Crown Derby Damnit!
This looks so lovely! Your family is so lucky to enjoy such a lovely meal in your beautiful home. Happy New Year!
What a cozy and beautiful Christmas spread! Hope 2009 is a great year for you, Eloise!
