After all the excitement and beauty of the holidays, I am having a hard time finding anything in my mundane everyday life to cover in my blog!
Hockey Boy was in a wreck last month. Fortunately neither he nor the two friends with him was hurt, but his car was pretty banged up. The other driver was at fault and left the scene, and there have been some extra paperwork involved with that so that the claim does not count against our insurance rates (our insurance has actually been great to work with). I've been running around getting estimates and researching other *pre-owned* cars so that we can make a decision about whether to replace his car or get it fixed.
I have cafeteria duty at the high school today. I am tempted to take a couple of pictures there to give you a glimpse into that exciting corner of my life. Can you even imagine how Hockey Boy would react to that?
I finally have all of our Christmas things put away and the house returned to order. I'm turning my thoughts to my annual Valentine's luncheon which unbelievably is approaching quickly.
I promise to find something compelling to blog about soon. Hope everyone's new year is off to a good start.

Oh, man, I'm glad Hockey Boy and his friends are okay! How scary...
I'm all for getting back to a routine after the Holidays. My storage room re-organize is almost done (thank goodness) and it is a major part of my "simplify" this year.
Can't wait to hear about your Valentine's tea...what a fun idea!
I am so glad that your son is safe.
Very scary when a teen is behind the wheel. My son had an accident his first month of driving (and many more were to follow). It was not his fault but I always wondered if he could have avoided it had he been more experienced. It was such a relief when the kids went off to college where cars were not allowed.
I will be at your luncheon in spirit!

So glad that your hockey boy and his friends are ok. Once you get over the scariness it's just a pain in the neck getting the insurance stuff done.
I hope I join you in the "all packed up and put away" category soon! I was thinking this morning how the getting out and the putting away just drags on for days around here and I can't figure out why. Might have something to do with preschool playdates, etc.
I would love to hear more about your Valentines Luncheon. That's a great idea!
I am so glad that Hockey Boy and his friends are alright...how scary!
I too am having a hard time finding things to blog about right now. We are just in kind of a calm pattern after the craziness of all the holidays!
I'm glad Hockey Boy and friends are alright; that's super-scary.
I, too, am finding it difficult to get back into the swing of things after the holiday season. Sooo difficult!
Oh Eloise--- we are living the same life! Our J.W. was hit by another (uninsured) driver too--- and we are having a devil of a time getting anyone to pay for it. I would be riveted, I must say, by photos of your stint in the High School lunchroom. And I am quite certain, that in years to come, your son would be too! And a Valentine's luncheon--- you are too much! I'll be waiting with baited breath (whatever that means!)
