My cousin Wendy's nine-year-old daughter, Katie, has been diagnosed with a diffusely infiltrative brain stem glioma. Wendy's family lives in Tallulah Falls in North Georgia, and she and Katie are staying with my Aunt Paula and Uncle Terry in Atlanta while Katie receives daily radiation treatments at Piedmont Hospital.
When we were growing up, Wendy and I lived behind each other - we shared a pool between our two houses. Our dads are brothers, and she is very dear to me.
I'm so sorry to hear that about Katie. Please let me know if you need anything or have any questions...I have taken care of many kids with the type of tumor she has.
How sad. Does it seem that more children are experiencing battles with cancer or other serious ailments these days? We personally know 4 at the moment. Very scary! Will pray.
Oh Eloise, I read this from my phone this weekend and have been praying for Katie and your family. Thank you for posting the Caring bridge site so I can keep up to date!

I unintentionally contaminated all of the pictures on my blog when I changed my privacy settings on Flickr. I am working backwards to correct them all, but it is quite a tedious procedure! If you encounter a post with error messages from Flickr where the pictures should be, then I haven't gotten to that post yet. Please let me know and I will update it immediately. Thanks for your patience!
