My dad sent me this picture yesterday. Our family had driven to the northeast for my brother and sister and me to stay with our aunt and uncle in Connecticut while our parents went to the Olympics in Montreal. We were at the Statue of Liberty. I believe my sister and I have matching Famolares with white socks - quite stylin'!

What a fabulous photo with the entire skyline in the background!
PS- Saw HockeyBoy in the paper today!!
How sad to see the Twin Towers behind you. We have a photo of Bob, Laura, and I taken in 1995 with the same background. Who would have ever thought......?
Fabulous picture for many reasons. What a history lesson for you to share. xoxo
Great photo. Thanks for sharing it with your readers.
What a lovely memory...and with the Twin Towers in the background.
I love this picture of you three! I love seeing the 70's garb and I love seeing the Twin Towers ... it just feels like a simpler place in time. How sweet of your father. Xoxo-BLC
What a cute photo! I think that I had those same Famolares. Oh...memories!
I just found your blog today, and I really like it!
Precious...In oh so many ways.
Feels like yesterday...no?
I had not heard the word Famolares in so long. I had several pairs of those. What a hoot to be reminded of those wavy soles! I really enjoy your blog as I grew up in TX and spent loads of time shopping with my mother in Dallas. I also went to Ga Tech like your dad. Your family is so precious!
That is a wonderful photo! Look at that skyline...wow!
I loved my Famolares. My Mom took me to Nordstrom to get them for school.
What a special picture for so many reasons.
That is too much! I have to say I miss that skyline. New Yorker here!
Oh my goodness, I'm with Lizzy, I haven't heard the word "famolares" in ages. And that has to be you on the far right because it is the spittin image of Dots!!
