Vivian is off the ventilator and breathing on her own! So far, so good but the next four hours are critical. Pray for her ability to cough well and for the swelling in her vocal chords to diminish.
I just caught up on your blog today. I can't believe all that has happened to your family. I can't event imagine the stress and anxiety of it all. My prayers remain with you.
We just drove past the hospital, after having my stitches removed this morning. I said a prayer and hoped that wonderful things were happening inside! Looks like they are! May this critical period pass with safety and speed. It must be such a relief to see Vivian off the vent! Thank you for keeping us updated, when I am sure all you really want to do is collapse. Continuing to hold all of you in prayer.
What a fabulous update! I will continue to keep you all in prayer especially during this critical time of improvement. You must be emotionally exhausted with all that you are going through!
Hooray! Getting off the vent is such a huge step! I checked in earlier than usual on your blog today hoping to hear this good news. Will pray for good breaths, reduced swelling, and for parents to be able to breathe a little easier themselves!
I just recently started reading your blog after hearing about Vivian from Hopsy at Monograms and Manicures. I'm so glad to hear that things are looking up. My thoughts continue to be with your family :)

Majored in mathematics at SMU, taught elementary school for six years before Will was born, currently tutoring math ~~~~
Things I enjoy: playing duplicate bridge, working NY Times crossword puzzles, reading good books, entertaining, visiting with friends, planning trips, traveling, playing board games, spending time with family, working Liberty jigsaw puzzles, cooking, keeping up with old friends ~~~ happy to correspond with other parents about raising a child with special needs
I unintentionally contaminated all of the pictures on my blog when I changed my privacy settings on Flickr. I am working backwards to correct them all, but it is quite a tedious procedure! If you encounter a post with error messages from Flickr where the pictures should be, then I haven't gotten to that post yet. Please let me know and I will update it immediately. Thanks for your patience!
