Vivian missed the first two days of school because she and I were in Wyoming. I took Vivian straight from the airport to her school on Wednesday. She walked happily into her classroom and got right to work on reading with Mrs. Cunningham! Vivian's teachers and others at her school faithfully followed her time in the hospital this summer by visiting, emailing, sending cards, etc. They were thrilled to see Vivian back at school and doing so well!

I texted Will and asked him to have one of his nice roommates take his picture on his first day of college. Would you believe I didn't hear back from him? This picture of him and Dots after she and Robert visited on Sunday to deliver Will's bedding will have to suffice...
7th graders are my favorite! Hope Dots has a great year. I met lots of my students Tues night and it seems like I have a nice group this year. School starts for the kids next Wed.
I can't tell you how many of my text messages went unanswered by my boys! But don't worry...girls are a little better with communication, especially if they need something!
Married since 1987 to Robert, three grown kids: Will, Vivian, and Dots, one granddaughter: Charlotte ~~~~
Majored in mathematics at SMU, taught elementary school for six years before Will was born, currently tutoring math ~~~~
Things I enjoy: playing duplicate bridge, working NY Times crossword puzzles, reading good books, entertaining, visiting with friends, planning trips, traveling, playing board games, spending time with family, working Liberty jigsaw puzzles, cooking, keeping up with old friends ~~~ happy to correspond with other parents about raising a child with special needs
I unintentionally contaminated all of the pictures on my blog when I changed my privacy settings on Flickr. I am working backwards to correct them all, but it is quite a tedious procedure! If you encounter a post with error messages from Flickr where the pictures should be, then I haven't gotten to that post yet. Please let me know and I will update it immediately. Thanks for your patience!

Hope all three have a great year!
How wonderful to get back to normal!
You had quite a summer! I hope it's a wonderfully quiet fall for you. So funny that Hockey boy didn't respond....college!

Dots looks beautiful! She's getting so big. So glad to see Vivian at school. Here's hoping for a great (and peaceful) fall!
